Captvty version 2.10.6.2 from January 17, 2024, TF1, and DRM.

This is the choice of certain channels and there is nothing anyone can do about it; you should have read the FAQ on the Captvty website, excerpt:

What is a technological protection measure (DRM) and why does Captvty inform me of its presence when accessing certain content?

This is not a malfunction of the software.

Television channels use technological protection measures to prevent or control the copying or viewing of works. These technological protection measures, commonly referred to as DRM (Digital Rights Management), render the downloading of content by Captvty ineffective.

It is therefore noted that the implementation of such measures has the effect of depriving beneficiaries of the exceptions defined in articles L. 122-5 and L. 211-3 of the Intellectual Property Code.

Article L. 331-31 (law n°2009-1311) states that the Regulatory Authority for Audiovisual and Digital Communication is responsible for ensuring that the implementation of technological protection measures does not deprive beneficiaries of these exceptions. In this context and in order to help resolve technical difficulties regarding the use of works, the Regulatory Authority wishes to gather your experience through the following questionnaire: Report a usability issue with a legally acquired work.

It should also be noted that article L. 331-9 (law n°2009-669) states that:

• Publishers and distributors of television services cannot resort to measures that would deprive the public of the benefit of these exceptions.

Note: The software author cannot replace consumer associations regarding any use of technological protection measures (DRM) that users may consider abusive. It is probably possible to communicate your opinion to the contacts of the television channels using technological protection measures (DRM):

I had indeed read these explanations in the Captvty FAQ. I fully understand (which does not mean I approve) that in order to reap the benefits of advertising, certain private channels, if not all, prevent access to their content outside of their platforms in the name of nice superficial principles.

But originally, I was wondering why, in this case, Captvty, in its latest version, made this announcement: "Improvement of access to the program list of the TF1 group," with, at the top of the page, the warning of a viewing or recording limitation to 4 hours.

Not seeing any improvement personally, I was questioning whether it was an issue related to my settings, or if it was a general problem, knowing that at Captvty they do everything they can to provide us with this access, for which I sincerely thank them.
