Hello everyone.

I just changed my PC for a Dell Optiplex 9020 model.

It's impossible to connect it to a Samsung S24D390 screen via the HDMI port; only the VGA port works.

However, the old PC running Windows 7 was connected to this screen via HDMI.

I connected the HDMI cable between my PC and my TV, and it works!

What should I do?

Thank you for your valuable help.

Hello manurx27,

"thanks to the HDMI port": I think your HDMI port is an output, not an input.

Screen Samsung S24D390 (middle of the video).

Nope, it is indeed an Input (photo).

Dell OptiPlex 9020 (tower?)

Best wishes for this new year 2024!

Hello, I have a similar issue.

With my GTX 770 graphics card, I could connect to my TV without any problems, and since I got my RTX 3070 Ti, I can't connect to my Samsung TV, even though it is detected (via HDMI)!

Hello,

On this type of PC, you only seem to have DP ports. Therefore, you need to acquire a DP to HDMI adapter.

Hello Txiki.

It's indeed HDMI in, with the old PC there was no problem receiving the signal.

Dell 9020 tower with Display Port output, no reception on the screen while it works on my Samsung TV.

Yes, normally no DP but it's a refurbished one with 2 DP outputs.

I took a picture, you can see the VGA port that is currently working and the DP connected to the monitor via HDMI but with no effect.

To connect the DP output to an HDMI input, you definitely need an adapter. Perhaps you didn't get one that goes in the right direction DP --> HDMI.

Here is the cable that I connected.

This is not a DP to HDMI adapter but to HD, which is not at all the same thing.

Moreover, this PC apparently has Firewire ports. Nothing to do with HDMI.

Having faced the DP --> HDMI issue several times, I just bought this adapter

https://www.fnac.com/mp30165491/Adaptateur-DisplayPort-vers-HDMI/w-4

and I connected it via an HDMI cable. It has always worked perfectly.
