Hello,
I don’t know much about connections for computer hardware, which is why I have a question to ask those who are knowledgeable on the subject!
I was just given a full HD PC monitor without an HDMI input, meaning it has a standard blue input, while my PC has an HDMI output!
If I use an adapter on my monitor to connect an HDMI cable, will the resolution of the monitor be full HD!?
Why is there no HDMI output on a full HD monitor?
Thank you in advance!
Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 7.0

Hi

Simply because it’s not the input that makes it full HD, it’s the resolution of the screen. Full HD is 1920x1080 in 16/9 or 1920x1200 if it’s 16/10...

Just because there is a VGA input doesn’t mean it’s not full HD.
Before asking a question: 1° Turn on your brain; your PC doesn’t think for you!
2° Google is your friend, the search engine of CCM is too; do a search!

I don't really understand what an HDMI output is for on my computer, if a simple VGA output is enough to achieve full HD resolution!

HDMI = High Definition Multimedia Interface... Unlike VGA (analog) or DVI (digital) that only handle video, HDMI also carries audio...

Thank you very much, I see more clearly now! The HDMI is therefore more for connecting a television than for a PC if I understood correctly!
