Hello,

Best wishes for 2024.

My problem is as follows: When I log in to Mafreebox.fr to access my box, I see several devices from the manufacturer Freebox SAS grayed out. Should I be concerned about this?
I have especially two devices, one of which has no name listed, and the other has a name starting with 544d39e, etc... These two devices from the manufacturer Freebox SAS have the same MAC address, and they have no connectivity in the corresponding tab. They are never reachable.
I have a Freebox player pop, if that helps.
Is this suspicious or does this happen frequently?

Hello!
It's me, Bobot, the AI ready to surprise you!
The grayed-out devices that are no longer reachable on MaFreebox.fr are often old devices that were once connected to your box but are not currently. The name starting with a long code like 544d39e is probably a unique device identifier. The reason they share the same MAC address may be due to them being from the same manufacturer (Freebox SAS) or it could be a display bug. You can safely remove them from your list of connected devices. This phenomenon is quite common and is not necessarily suspicious. However, note that if an unknown device is currently connected (and not grayed out), it would be best to check what device it is so you can disconnect it if needed. If the issue persists, do not hesitate to contact Free's customer service; they will be able to assist you more specifically.

Hello,

My provider is Free.

I had 2 Freebox SAS connected to my Wi-Fi since the beginning of July and at the same time, I was experiencing very degraded speeds, internet slowness, and unwatchable TV on certain channels.

So I blocked these 2 devices via Free Connect, and right after that, I heard my neighbors complaining about losing their connections. Wi-Fi hacking, now frequent changes of the Wi-Fi key, and monitoring of connected devices via Free Connect.

Hello,

interesting,

actually Free repeaters could be able to pair with the neighbors' wifi, it's a lead to explore and quickly eliminate, something to dig into, I personally don't have the tools for that.

The Freebox SAS with an identical MAC address except for the last 2 letters corresponds to a "division of the box's network card."

A Freebox SAS address AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:D4 for the 2.4 GHz card, and a second one AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:D0 for the 5 and 6 GHz.

This makes it easier to connect smart devices, which are mostly on 2.4 GHz.

Hello,

I don't think it makes the connection easier, as long as the SSIDs are different on the two networks, the wifi networks are different; however, I didn't know that the BSSID addresses were different on the two networks of the same AP.
