No antenna connection in my accommodation.

Hello,

I just moved into a new place, and to my surprise, there is no antenna socket, and I don't have an internet box!

There is indeed an antenna cable that comes into the electrical panel, but it is then connected to two LAN sockets in the living room.

Can I buy an adapter that allows me to convert the LAN socket in the living room to a standard antenna socket to connect the television?

My TV has a LAN socket, but connecting it did not give me any reception.

Thank you in advance for your responses!

Best regards,

Sébastien

    Hello

You will find at Darty, Boulanger, Castorama, and Leroy Merlin, an RJ45/coaxial cable to connect to the RJ45 socket presumably wired to the antenna.

Hello, on the sidelines of your question, a brand new rented apartment must have sockets to access TNT.

There is no obligation to have a TV antenna socket. But when a socket is mentioned in the lease, it must be functional.

      Hello gee pee,

Is it mandatory to have a TV socket?

Communication sockets are used for networking phones, computer equipment, Internet, and TV. To comply with the standard, each communication socket must be of type RJ45. Their presence is mandatory in each main room, at least 2 per dwelling.

Yes for new housing, but even with RJ45 sockets there might not be a socket for the TV (DTT)

      Hello,

      So what?

The fact that in recent housing there is an obligation for network sockets (and often they are only connected for telephony, but that's another matter) does not impose an obligation on the landlord to provide access to an antenna if it is not stated in the lease.

Therefore, there will be sockets in these homes... but nothing "at the end" without equipment.

Oh yes! It's mandatory! (coaxial or RJ45, it doesn't matter).

    Hello,

The "indoor" antennas work very well, as long as they are properly placed, well oriented, and have sufficient gain (minimum 43db).
