Using SAS drives on a desktop PC

Hello,

I retrieved SAS server drives from my work because we changed equipment, and I wanted to know if it was possible to connect them to my computer. I followed the basic method through "disk management" to add the SAS drives to my PC, but I feel like they are undetectable.

Is there something specific that needs to be done for them to be detectable?

Thank you.

Good evening,

Your motherboard doesn't have a SAS controller, so you can't see them.

Depending on the specifications of the SAS drives, you would need to get this type of card:

Best regards.

Hello francky0504,

I think it’s more of a formatting issue. Have you tried to format them, and I would even say low-level format.

"SAS drives to my PC": see here.

Happy holidays!
