Can you install a hard drive on any PC?

Hello everyone, I wanted to know if we can take any hard drive and put it in any PC (laptops or desktops) knowing that the hard drive does not have security (or the tab on the sides, it's a Toshiba) it has 160 GB

In a desktop PC, you can install any hard drive
In a laptop, the hard drive must fit the dimensions of its slot; if it doesn't fit, you will have issues getting your PC to work

In general, portable hard drives are 2.5 inches, while desktop hard drives are 3.5 inches, so not all are compatible in terms of size.
No problem for installation as long as you retrieve the operating system and Windows license if the hard drive comes from another computer.
