4G and 5G compatible mobile?

Hello,

Following the question I asked on 24 Sep 2026 at 12:50, Samsung Galaxy XCover 4 (as its name indicates) is only compatible with 4G. So with Free, a switch to 3G? I want to make this phone last longer (sold in 2017). How?

    Hello,

    At first glance, the Galaxy XCover 4 is compatible with 4G, but support for VoLTE (calls over 4G) remains unclear. It is not compatible with 5G.

    It could continue to connect to mobile data without issue, but it may no longer be able to make calls after the end of 3G and 2G.

    To check, try making a call and see if the phone stays on the 4G network or switches to 3G/2G at that moment. Also check if there is a VoLTE option in the phone settings (Settings > Connections > Mobile networks).

      Hello,

      Your phone is VoLTE compatible, so it will continue to work normally on 3G/4G networks. You may just need to enable the option in the settings if it isn’t already enabled by default.
