Network Controller Driver

Hello,

I just bought a new computer where the drivers still needed to be installed. The installation disc for the motherboard detected all the missing drivers and installed them, except for one which I have no idea about. It's a "network controller" for which I can't find the associated driver. My motherboard with Wi-Fi antenna (MSI PRO-Z790-A-MAX-WIFI) doesn't detect the surrounding networks and I think that's the missing piece.     And clicking on "update the driver" doesn't work?

    "I downloaded and installed the driver": Did you properly select the right one?

    Lan Drivers for example...(I can't put the direct link) for the network.

    Honestly, I don't recall a single time when the "Update Driver" button actually worked for any device.

    Yes, I installed the Intel Wifi driver, but it doesn't clearly appear in the device list, even though the process says "installed successfully." I feel like something's off.

    you have internet with the RJ45 cable => to start a search on the MSI website

    I do have internet with an RJ45, but I don't understand the phrase "the last resort will be Wi-Fi." I actually don't have that Wi-Fi.

      I don't know if you received a CD of drivers and utilities that came with the motherboard ??

      THE DRIVER UPDATE UTILITY would be on it, and if you don't have it, it's on this >page< under Utilities

      It will be the file MSI-Center.zip => on C:/ you create a folder "MSI-Center" (if you don't have one), you will unzip the downloaded file and double-click on the executable file

    I had a hard time understanding your problem. In fact, your RJ45 is working and it's the WIFI that isn't working. First, you can start by trying to update the drivers for the chipset of the motherboard here. Then, you can manually specify the path to follow to install the driver. Here's the procedure:

    You download and save the driver on your PC. Go to Device Manager. Expand Network adapters Intel WIFI Driver. Right-click on your network card, then click on Update driver. Choose the option:
    Browse my computer for the driver software.
    A path will be indicated to you, but choose Browse... Look for the previously downloaded driver. When you find it, double-click on it and follow the instructions until the end. Good luck.

    PS: the driver to save at the beginning is Intel WIFI Driver

    - Windows 10 64 bit

    - I have the driver installation CD that worked for about ten of them, but this last device remains, and I am not 100% sure it is the wifi. Is there any information that could help you?

      This driver is only available with Windows 11 and I have 10. I have an "Error ID 103". Anyway, I was planning to buy 11. I’ll keep you updated.

    I don't know which driver you are talking about? The drivers for this motherboard are available in both Windows 11 and Windows versions. If Windows 11 is displayed by default when you arrive on the site, you just need to replace Windows 11 with Windows 10 to find the same drivers corresponding to Windows 10.
