Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro Charging Issue

Hello,
For the past few days I haven't been able to charge my smartphone. No matter how I plug it in, it charges for 5 seconds, then disconnects even though the cable is connected.
I suspect it's a problem with the charging connector. It's also worth noting that for the past two and a half years I've been charging this phone with a fast charger (could that have damaged the battery??)
So I went to a mobile phone repair shop and they told me they can replace the charging connector for 39 euros.
But is it really worth it?
What if the problem isn't there and I end up paying 39 euros for nothing?
Does the professional have an obligation to deliver results in this case?
I will test the charging in front of him at the end of the operation with my charger. If it doesn't work after his repair, am I still required to pay?

Hello.
Before wanting to replace the connector,
have you addressed all the issues?
- Check that nothing has entered the connectors of the cable AND the phone (fabric, food, other),
- Test with another charger and another cable,
- Play without forcing the angle applied to the phone's connector with the cable connector, without moving it too much of course.
Yes, I tested it with another charger and USB cable. Same issue.
I lightly cleaned the phone and the connector.
I played with the angle slightly, but it doesn't change anything.
Usually, the phone charges directly when I plug it in.
IT IS NOTED that I have had this problem since I took my phone to be repaired at a mobile phone repair shop last Wednesday. (it's a different store from the one I went to afterwards).
Indeed, the audio Jack socket was no longer working and the repairman opened the phone and cleaned the Jack connector. Since then, the Jack socket works, but the phone no longer charges!
I suspect the repairman damaged the charging connector in the process, but I can't prove anything... I kept the receipt.
Additionally, just before finishing the repair, the repairman told me "You know, your charging connector is going to fail soon. It will need to be changed soon. I can do it for 39 euros."
Weird, don't you think??
In this case, it's extremely strange, because of the way things have been addressed, it is assumed that while troubleshooting the Jack socket, the repairman affected the operation of the charging port, but these are just difficult-to-prove assumptions.
Technically speaking, we can't say that a charging port is about to fail.
It either works, or it doesn't.
But how to demonstrate this regarding his repair. Tough.
At the limit, one would have to go see him and ask him face to face if he inadvertently touched it, and if he made the socket inoperative.
Otherwise, repair, unfortunately.
Is it complicated to replace a charging connector on an Android phone by yourself? Do you need special tools?
For example, I don't know how to open the casing of my phone.
At this level, I would be unable to help you, as this type of manipulation goes beyond my capabilities.
