Redmi Note 8 Pro Wi-Fi Problem

So I have a problem with my Redmi Note 8 Pro. When I'm using mobile data alone, there’s no issue; but when I'm connected to Wi-Fi at the same time, I can't connect to the internet anymore. I tested using mobile data alone and it works, Wi-Fi alone is hit or miss, but using both at the same time works a little and then nothing.
I hope you can help me, this is a nightmare.

One last thing, my box is the Freebox Revolution.

Hello,
I also had the same issue with my Redmi Note 8 Pro and I think I found the solution. Go to your phone's settings, then Wi-Fi, scroll down to the bottom and tap on additional settings, finally enter Wi-Fi assistant and disable the options that are enabled and that's it. I can't guarantee it will work, but it worked for me. Have a nice day.

I have the Redmi Note 8 Pro and the Freebox Revolution, and I have no issues.... from what I read, you seem to have problems with your Wi-Fi connection with your Freebox.

"Wi-Fi alone is okay, well, one time out of two"..... what does that mean?

But both at the same time work a little and then nothing. Both at the same time?

If you enable Wi-Fi and 4G at the same time near your box, the 4G is no longer active, you can see that at the top of your screen; you see the Wi-Fi signal but no 4G.. Either one or the other.

Hello, thank you for your response. So when I say both at the same time, it's that my mobile data is activated, and the phone is connecting to the Wi-Fi; indeed, 4G turns off to make way for Wi-Fi, but I have no internet connection anymore, I can't access Google, Facebook doesn't load, etc. However, if I activate Wi-Fi without mobile data, it works. I've tried looking in the settings, on the internet, and found nothing that helps. I also thought there might be a problem with my router, but I have a second phone at home and there's no issue. I don't understand anything. I've never had a problem like this before. Thank you again for taking the time to respond.

Honestly, I don't see the problem. I leave both connected at the same time and there's strictly no issue, and neither does my husband with his Galaxy Note 4... on your Note 8 Pro, how do you connect to your Freebox? WPS or did you enter Free's long password? Try one or the other to see...

Hello, sorry for the delayed response, I didn't have time to check this yesterday. So no, I don’t have WPS, I enter a password to connect to my router, which is a password that I had already changed. If I understood correctly the purpose of WPS. So I saw quite a bit on the internet that disabling 802.11n could solve the problem. I tried it without much conviction, and it's much better. Could this cause any issues? All my devices had no trouble connecting to the router after restarting. If it might cause a problem, I’ll turn it back on and keep looking... thanks for your help.

Alright, so I didn't mess up! No fiber. Without the 802.11n it works, so is that the problem? My Revolution box is quite old, we got it 6 years ago, maybe that could be the issue?

Ok, I'll try to check with Free if there has been a change in the model since 2014 and I'll see. For now, I'll stick with this configuration. I'll let you know if it could be coming from the box. Thanks for your help.

I can confirm the Wi-Fi stability issue on the Note 8 Pro. On the Freebox Wi-Fi, all other devices are functioning properly. The Redmi disconnects randomly. I haven't found anything so far; any leads would be welcome.

just to reassure you... I also have a Freebox, and I just acquired a Redmi Note 8 Pro. I can confirm the recurring Wi-Fi issues are indeed coming from the phone and definitely not from the box... my previous phone worked perfectly, and my friend's, a Xiaomi Mi A3, has no issues at all.
So I think it's pointless to waste time testing the Wi-Fi network or changing the box... it probably won't bring any improvement..

I also bought this mobile and similarly, it disconnects randomly from Wi-Fi without actually disconnecting me from the Wi-Fi. I tried disabling the Wi-Fi assistance settings but it didn't improve anything.

Same problem with wifi instability since the MIUI 11.0.4 update (everything worked wonderfully before this update)... Same difficulties with Free ADSL and Videofutur fiber. My partner has no issues with her Huawei or her Samsung tablet.
It is indeed a reception problem with the Xiaomi under 11.0.4.
This was my first Xiaomi, and it will be the last!

Hello, I have exactly the same symptoms since I got a Redmi Note 8T: wifi connected but internet connection doesn't work.
I have to turn off the Wifi for 30 seconds, then reconnect it, and this several times a day; this instability is annoying. With other smartphone brands, no issues with Wifi...

Hello, I have the same issue with my Redmi Note 8 and Freebox Revolution. I got my phone 3 months ago and until mid-September it was working very well, but since then sometimes I have quite a bit of latency with the Wi-Fi (especially on a mobile game) and sometimes it works perfectly, about 1 week out of 2. It's not because of my box since I was at friends' house who are with Orange, and I had the same problem. If anyone can help me, that would be great.

Hello everyone, I live in the Middle East but I speak French. So it's easier for me to search in French to solve my problem, which is the same as yours. I don't have a box, it doesn't exist. Although I have disabled automatic Wi-Fi, it still connects by itself even when I'm out on the street. The result: intermittent and repetitive micro-cuts until the communication is cut off. The bug definitely comes from the phone. Mine is still under warranty. I'm not thrilled about it, but I will send it back to Xiaomi hoping they can fix the bug. I will keep you updated on the result.
