Downgrade HP printer, where to find old firmwares?

Hello,

I want to use generic ink cartridges for my HP printer.

For that, I need to downgrade the firmware and thus find an old firmware.

Could someone kindly provide me with a link?

Apparently, it's well hidden by HP, but they are certainly covering themselves by providing links that are very hard to find in case of legal action (they aren't allowed to force users to use only their cartridges)

Perfect, thanks for the links. Just a small clarification, you need to download it on your PC, launch the firmware that is connected to the printer, and follow the instructions.

Hello, As for me, it's an officejet pro 7740 ww... Same problem since cleaning the print heads, all while ALWAYS keeping the update search option DISABLED... They got me anyway! Where can I find the older firmware and how do I install it? I am furious! These are pirate methods, a hostage situation in the literal sense!
