Broken smartphone screen (black): how to recover your data?

Hello, the screen on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 is broken, and I have a black screen.

The device works, even though the touch doesn't seem to respond across the entire surface of the screen.

My alarm still goes off and I can turn it off by swiping my finger up from the bottom. Indeed, the lower part of the screen is only slightly damaged.

The problem is connecting my phone to the PC, I can't activate USB debugging and therefore it's impossible to navigate the internal memory of the phone.

I should mention that I bought an OTG adapter to connect my keyboard to the phone so I can unlock it (with a code).

I've tried a lot of things but I'm getting a bit desperate.

Do you think there's a way to recover my data in my case?

Thank you in advance!

    Hello,

Before proceeding with the operations, you should start by changing your screen.

Hello, thank you for your help, but I'm looking for a solution to recover my data without replacing the screen.

    Hello.

Maybe the data recovery with this application ==>

Download Dr.Fone for free for PC, Android APK - CCM (commentcamarche.net)

I think it's a shareware program, so it's a trial before it becomes paid or immediately paid to recover all the data. But still try the suggestion made by Panth whom I salute. If the repair is possible, consider making a backup of your files afterwards. You never know . . .

    See you . . .

      Hello,

There are plenty of data recovery software; if they connect to the phone via Wi-Fi, an application needs to be installed, and if it's via USB, USB debugging must be enabled: back to square one if that's not the case.

    Thank you Jojolaguitare and brucine.

Indeed, I had installed the software in question (trial version), and I am asked to enable USB debugging. It is indicated that it only works with a Samsung device. I have not found any software that would be compatible with a Xiaomi in addition to offering a solution without the famous USB debugging, especially one that is free... I think it doesn't exist.

However, I thought I saw in the adb/fastboot tool a way to solve the problem. The tool, which is command-line and designed for developers if I understood correctly, is not the easiest to understand. I don’t even know if it’s possible.

I bought an adapter with an HDMI output to connect the phone to a screen + keyboard, but I have no image. I saw that it was possible on YouTube. Adapter problem? Possible.

Last solution: buy an adapter with 2 USB ports, one for the keyboard and the other to connect the phone to the PC. It involves navigating on the phone "blindly" with the keyboard to reach the notification and enable USB transfer. This is the only solution I haven't tried. I would like to clarify that I bought the same phone, so I have a model to navigate on the phone with the broken screen.

    See you!

      Hello,

There is definitely USB debugging on Xiaomi just like on other brands, and for an adb command to work, it must be enabled.
