Hello, I have a problem with my Thomson computer. I had set a password for the startup of my PC in the BIOS, but I forgot the password, so I can't do anything on the PC, not even reset it or access the BIOS.

Hello,

A BIOS password on a laptop should not be taken lightly.

Normally, for a BIOS password, you need to dismantle the PC to perform a Clear CMOS or CLR PWD.

Thank you for your response, and how could I do that?

Hello,

A BIOS password, which provides enhanced protection compared to a Windows password, would be useless if it were enough to anonymously visit a public forum to bypass this security.

It is therefore important to carefully note this code, given the fragility of human memory.

For older PCs and desktop PCs, you can try the reset procedure below:

https://www.commentcamarche.net/informatique/composants/1659-reinitialiser-le-bios-d-un-pc/

Laptop manufacturers have tightened the procedure in response to reported abuses.

Another solution: contact an authorized manufacturer's service center, providing the invoice.

If you have a battery, take it out and take a picture of its location!
