MSI Center won't start

Hello, I just bought an MSI Thin GF63 12VE laptop, and at first, the app I use to choose the usage mode, MSI Center, was working well. Until it updated. When I launch it, a window opens with the text "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?" so I click yes. And right after, the app doesn't launch and I get a notification that says "After quitting MSI Center, restart MSI Center and click on the [yes] option in the User Account Control dialog box to complete the installation of MSI Center." I have repaired, uninstalled, and reinstalled MSI Center, but nothing changes. If someone can help me, that would be really nice :)

Hello, I just encountered the problem and I managed to fix it. I think that for several months you have found a solution but I'm responding anyway in case someone has this issue.

Here’s what I did:

1. Click on Windows and type "Msi Center" then click on "uninstall."

2. Once the Msi Center application is uninstalled, reinstall it by going online or directly using this link: https://download.msi.com/uti_exe/desktop/MSI-Center.zip

3. Once the file is downloaded, extract the software and start the Msi Center installation.

4. Once it's finished, restart the Msi Center application and complete the installation.

Either the problem is fixed, and the application will launch normally.

Or if the problem persists (which was my case):

1. Click on Windows and type "control panel" then open it.

2. Once in the application, type "uninstall a program" in the search bar at the top right and click on the result.

3. Scroll through the list of programs then find "MSI Center SDK" and right-click then "uninstall."

4. Once the "MSI Center SDK" program is uninstalled, click on Windows and type "Msi Central" to launch the application.

5. When launching the application, a window will appear with the message "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?" click "YES."

6. The installation will then begin, and you will see the progress of the download. When I did this, the download took a few minutes and then I received an error message saying to restart my computer because the application was not working properly.

7. Restart your computer.

During the restart, the screen will light up and it will say "Updates are in progress, do not turn off your computer." I waited between 10 and 15 minutes but the computer did not restart. I then forcefully shut it down manually by holding the button. The computer then restarted normally, and the "Msi Central" application relaunched as before. The problem was solved.

I hope the problem has been resolved on your end and that this was able to help you.

I hope I was clear enough, feel free to reply to this message if you have any questions.

Thank you for your help and response, indeed I had the same problem.

So I uninstalled MSI Center and MSI SDK, then reinstalled them and it worked:)

If you only uninstall MSI Center based on my issue, it doesn't work and the reinstallation won't succeed. You also need to uninstall MSI SDK.

Thank you

I followed the first method, but I'm stuck during the installation. A window is looping telling me "waiting for the installation of MSI Center."

I searched a lot on the internet and then I read on a forum that you should do a clean uninstall with the CleanCenterMaster program, which you can download from the MSI website. Here is the link: https://download.msi.com/uti_exe/nb/CleanCenterMaster.zip

Then reinstall MSI Center at my place; it has worked several times because it happens regularly at MSI.

Now the version of MSC Center 2.0.46.0 doesn't work, and I have kept version 2.0.45.0, which has no issues.

Have you found a solution? Same here.

I just found the solution. Uninstall only the MSI Center SDK... reopen MSI Center, and there you go. It will reinstall the MSI Center SDK correctly and it will be fine.

how to do this?

You go to add or remove programs, and you look for msi. Normally you have both and you choose to remove the sdk.

The official debug procedure on the MSI page requires using software to properly uninstall MSI, Clean Center Master, and then reinstall MSI Center from the Microsoft Store.

Good evening, I'm having the same issue with a brand new MSI Stealth A16 AI+. At first, everything was working but recently I've been experiencing exactly the same behavior. I've tried all the suggested solutions and nothing works. Does anyone have another brilliant idea? Have a good evening and thank you in advance, Lionel

I downloaded CleanCenterMaster and performed a "clean" uninstallation using the MSI tool. I reinstalled version 2.0.63.0 (the latest available). It's the same one I had previously installed... I started the installation which lasted a few minutes and now the MSI Center opens! I'm configuring it...
