Startup issue with Acer Swift 3 "no bootable device"

Hello,

Since this morning when I turned on my Acer Swift 3 laptop, it shows 'no bootable device.' I turned it off and on again, but it's still the same.

After that, I pressed F2 to access the BIOS menu, but I can't change anything in 'boot' and 'boot mode'; I'm unable to access or change UEFI to legacy.

What can I do to fix my problem and get my laptop to restart?

If anyone has a solution...

    Good evening,

see this recent thread on the meaning of the "no bootable device" error message and a procedure to check the hard drive status:

    https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-37863536-tabletet-pc-impossible-de-demarrer

There is no one-click solution but a series of operations:

    - system check

    - physical state check of the hard drive

    - system repair (if possible, by resetting to factory settings) or hard drive replacement

    - possible installation of a new operating system.

    - recovery of drivers

    Good evening,

-- It’s possible that you left a USB key in place or a micro SD that could contain boot files... and the PC can't boot...

-- Otherwise, your PC can't find the bootable SSD or it's not bootable... which means your SSD is dead or the Windows it contains is corrupted...

So what did you do to end up like this..?

What model of Swift 3 is it..?? How old is it..??

      Hello,

I didn't insert a USB drive or a micro SD before the problem or even after...

I didn't do anything that could have caused this problem, no downloads the day before or any unusual activities, yet I had already received this message that appeared certain mornings when I turned it on again, and when this problem occurred, I would turn it off and restart, and it would be fine, but now it’s impossible; the same message always appears.

I checked on YouTube for proposed solutions to this problem and got to the step in BOOT/BOOT MODE where access to change UEFI to LEGACY is impossible like they did...

The model is a Swift 3 SP315-51-3119, and it is 3 years old; it was under warranty for 2 years...

So your PC, this is it:

    Main features

    Operating System: Windows 10 Home

    Processor Model: Core i3-7130U

    RAM: 4GB

    Hard Drive Capacity: 1TB

    SSD Capacity: 128GB

Graphics Chipset Model: UHD Graphics 620

    Screen Size: 15.6"

It should be noted that it has two drives... 1 SSD of 128 and 1 HDD of 1TB... Can we assume that Windows is on the SSD...?

Is it possible for you to download and make a bootable USB key, I'll tell you more...?

Here is what you need to read and understand in general:

    https://www.malekal.com/malekal-live-cd-reparer-depanner-pc-windows/

So, for the setup, you need a working PC to download the Fichier Windows PE_SE here http://win10se.cwcodes.net/Compressed/index.php

then burn it onto a blank USB drive using the "Rufus" utility https://rufus.ie/fr/

Normally, if you restart your PC, it should boot from this USB drive.

    To be continued..

    Hello

I went to see a computer technician in a shop and I just got feedback. He told me that the problem is that the hard drive is dead... and that it would be impossible to recover the data on it, and that the repair would cost me more than 400€, so great.

Thank you for your help anyway

Okay, thanks for the feedback... we all targeted a disk issue...

It's true that repairing a PC that has neither a hard drive nor Windows is not always easy.

The real solution is to make periodic backups of the entire system... by purchasing a new hard drive, you restore it with the backup and it starts up again...
