Hello everyone,
I live in an apartment and I want to get internet in my garage. It is located in a basement. The distance from my Freebox to my garage is about 250 meters (+/-).
My question is as follows:
What is the best solution to get internet in my garage? What device do I need?
I look forward to your response, please.
Best regards,
????????✌️

Hello,
You can try the powerline adapter on the power outlet in your garage, especially if that outlet (or the light) is well connected to your apartment and on the same phase... otherwise, it gets complicated.
Like this https://www.tp-link.com/fr/home-networking/powerline/tl-pa4015pkit/
It's usually sold in pairs, one is connected via an RJ45 cable to your router, the other is in the outlet of your garage and also connected by cable to your PC (or via Wi-Fi, second choice).
I chose a model that supports 600Mb, specifically to better withstand electrical interference.
It's a solution that could work...??? without certainty..
You could also run a cable between the two, an ethernet cable. You need to check the technical conduits, what's possible..?

Hello,
what do you want to do with the internet in this garage, because it's going to cost you a lot to connect it at 250 m and underground, you'll have to invest heavily.
Do you have a direct line of sight between the two?
Also, is the land between the two yours or not?
Finally, what bandwidth do you need?
In any case, forget the powerline adapter solution that was suggested to you.
And there you go ....
But my goodness, those line breaks are so annoying!!-
Hello
What do you want to do with the internet in this garage?
Bill Gates had the internet in his garage......
Arf,
Internet didn't exist at that time (1975), but there is a long tradition of garages in computing.
I haven't achieved the same financial success, but I have my own box in my garage; however, it's the basement of the house :-)
Hi
Yeah, powerline adapters usually don't work across different circuits, so internally the garage must be on the same circuit as the rest of the apartment. Additionally, a high-speed fiber connection exceeds the capabilities of powerline adapters.
The garage must at least have electricity. It's not easy even in the basement.
I have a garage 250m away with one light, but I only pay for the lighting of "The light" and the common areas "by the thousandth" like every tenant in a different co-ownership from my apartment (it's simply calculated by the "building pathways" where I live). I'm not allowed to install an outlet; otherwise, I have to get an individual electric meter installed along with a connection for the garage in the specified pathway. And for the internet, it's likely that I'd be closer to that pathway than to my apartment and would need to set up a new contract and connection in that pathway for the internet too...
Just for tax purposes, the garage is linked to the apartment for the "m² garage".
The same property management company bills me for the "common lighting" electricity on 2 different "pathway" meters for the apartment and the garage. For the apartment, I have an individual electric meter in my name which is also 250m away from the garage: there are no existing wires between the two.
Hello,
With a smartphone as a modem (mobile hotspot).
