Hello,

I just bought a Samsung SSD T7 external hard drive because I read that it is recognized by iPads.

I connected it to my iPad Pro (10.5 inches) iOS 16.5 but it does not recognize the drive.

The drive's light stays off.

Does anyone have a bright idea?

Thanks to everyone for your responses.

    Hello,

Well, I finally found a video that explains everything.

Our 2 iPads have a lightning port, so there isn't enough power for the SSD.

I need to buy a lightning to usb 3 adapter that will allow me to connect the SSD and charge the iPad at the same time.

The next iPad should have a usb c port to avoid these problems.

    End of story.

    Hello Panth33ra,

    Thank you for the response.

I contacted Samsung support and they replied "...we unfortunately cannot guarantee that the SSD will work with an iPad..."

    Back to square one.

I read articles stating that the SSD works on iPad, so what should I do?

      Hello,

You are right, the SSD is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Android.

I contacted Samsung support and they replied "...we unfortunately cannot guarantee that the SSD works with an iPad..."

You got a response from an idiot.

What do they think an iPad is? It's simply a tablet running on Apple's iOS.

      Excerpt from their website.
