I bought an adapter to plug a USB flash drive into my iPad to save photos. When I plug in the USB drive, I get the following message: "Cannot use the device - USB Flash Drive: the connected device requires too much power." This is a 16GB Lexar 3.0 flash drive. I did the same operation with a 2GB drive and got the same response. What should I do? Thank you in advance.

Hello, I'm afraid to disagree with you, but lipad can receive and manage a USB key without any problem... you just need to look a little... the USB key you're using must require less than 100 mA to operate. Just find the right key, one that is not too power-hungry, and that's it...

I agree with you, I bought a 32GB Gmobi stick Model GH07C, I loaded movies and albums that do not come from iTunes and it works very well.

Hello,
You just need to create a DCIM folder on the USB drive and it will be recognized as a camera in the Photos app on the iPad.

Because no device from Apple accepts files that do not come from iTunes!!!

I advise you to look into network or Wi-Fi external drives. There are also USB sticks. Sorry, I can't remember the names right now.

We tend to throw everything in a jumble in life, but you can also use applications dedicated to a specific function.

For example: INFUSE allows you to watch your movies with beautiful covers. FOLIOZO simply transports your PDFs. FILES for throwing everything in a jumble.

Their functioning does not necessarily go through iTune, but also through the internet or a browser.
In the Apple universe, everything is designed ... and it is less so for Windows.
Documents are available in each application on your Mac.

Yes, it's true that there are always apps to bypass the functionality of iDevices, but without a file manager, it's going to be tough... And for PDFs, iTunes manages PDFs perfectly well...

it works with a free app on the App Store, very easy to use, all my photos and videos are on the app and I transfer them easily. I can also watch movies that are on the USB key without having to put them on the iPad.

You will find USB/Lightning drives on Alazon suitable for this use. Your adapter is only designed to connect a camera.
