Dazzle DVDRecorder issue

Hello, I thought I had bought something to easily transfer my VHS video tapes, but no. I must say I understand nothing, so...

According to the instructions, I placed the Pinnacle DVD, installed it, and connected my VCR to the Dazzle box and that to the PC (Windows 10 Home) as per the manual. I open Pinnacle, I have the studio screen, (so it recognizes it) that’s where it goes wrong!

At the top, there is "Import" "Edit" "Export" only "Edit" is in orange and if I click on "Import," Pinnacle closes!

I put the CD back in and opted for "repair" with no result. I find myself with a Dazzle that is unusable (at my level)

Your help would be precious and welcome. Thank you

Hello, you need to have the name of the device (VCR) in the taskbar

and the import box in orange

Hello glandu and thank you for the response. I can't find the device for the VCR. I have "Dazzle" under "sound" but no "LG" VCR. The task manager does show "NGstudio" when I open Dazzle and a "render service" related to Pinnacle Studio for Dazzle. I've followed the connections to the letter. What more should I do? Thank you.

Hello, on the recent setup you should at least have the blue screen and a sign that your Dazzle video recorder is properly connected in PAL, then start the recorder if the software closes.

Have you registered online to get the codes in return?

Thank you, the entire Pinnacle window is in gray, except for a "tag" at the top left next to the "drop zone" which is in purple, reading: Film studio project.... and at the very top, still in orange, is Modifier.

You didn't respond to me about your registration?

I suggest that if your software crashes, you send a ticket to Corel to help you.

I missed your registration question, registration for whom? where? If it's for Dazzle, I don't think so; I haven't seen anything about it, but my memory might be faulty. I've had Dazzle for about 4 months but haven't used it since I encountered a failure during its first use and gave up. A friend tried it too, without success! I'm getting back to it today, it's raining.... and I hope to have a bit more luck. As I mentioned earlier, I don't understand much about it; I thought it would be easy based on what I had read. Could it be a problem with the PC?

Hello from the PC, no it's the box that does all the work. Without scolding you, it's a bit simpler for the capture. Then for editing, it's exciting but it requires a bit of free time. It's a reliable and serious product. If you can, send a ticket with your explanations and basic information to technical support; they respond quickly. I do not recommend uninstalling it at first, wait for instructions from Dazzle. You have a serial number for this box; if you right-click on the question mark to identify yourself or on the installation disk.

I used to have an old Dazzle to digitize my tapes, and with my new PC (64-bit), it's no longer updated.

I remind you in case you don't know that the software installs on the C: drive.

That the import mode must be active and of course no crashes.

Hello, I contacted Dazzle / Pinnacle who advised me on two manipulations, but it didn’t work. As a result, I uninstalled and reinstalled Dazzle / Pinnacle, same problem. I’ve had enough! I contacted the seller who took the device back. The box seems defective in my opinion.

I don’t know if I should try buying it again or if I should go for a DIGITNOW converter which seems much less complicated. I will still look at some reviews first.

Thank you for all the advice.

    Best regards
