Black screen flickering bug on Netflix

Hello,
I have a 2020 MacBook Air with an Intel Core i3 dual-core.
When I watch a series on Netflix and I turn on subtitles, adjust the volume, or do anything else, a brief black screen appears for a fraction of a second when the subtitle disappears, which is very annoying over time.
I have already reset the NVRAM but nothing works.
Any advice or solutions?
Have a nice evening

Hello,
I had a client with this issue a long time ago, but I can't remember how it was resolved.
But to start, try changing your browser; if you're on Safari, switch to Google Chrome to see if the issue persists. I will head towards a device pilot, and if the issue is no longer present, it will be a plug-in related to the browser.

Test on Firefox :p
It's normal that the machine ventilates because Google Chrome cheats; it opens a lot of operations, anyway that's not the point of the day.
So, is your version of Safari up to date?

You may be using an outdated version of the Silverlight plug-in or it is corrupted.
To uninstall the Silverlight plug-in:
- Quit all open browsers, including this window. We recommend printing the following steps.
- Click on the Finder icon in the Dock at the bottom of the screen.
- In the menu bar at the top of the screen, select Go, then Computer.
- Click on the Macintosh HD icon.
- Select Library.
- Select Internet Plug-ins.
- Drag Silverlight.plugin to the Trash.
- Right-click on the Trash and select Empty.
- Once the trash is emptied, Microsoft Silverlight is fully uninstalled.
To install the latest version of the Silverlight plug-in:
- Sign in to Netflix.com and click on the Watch option for any title.
- Follow the prompts to download and install Silverlight on your Mac.
-
- Check the Netflix requirements for HTML5 and Silverlight players to verify Silverlight compatibility with your computer.
Some users may encounter the message "The Silverlight.dmg application cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer" when attempting to install Silverlight. This happens quite often with applications that are not downloaded from the Mac App Store. If you encounter this message, follow the steps below to complete the installation of Silverlight.
- Right-click or hold down the Control key on your keyboard and click on Silverlight.pkg.
- Click Open when the context menu appears.
- Click Open when prompted with the message "Silverlight.pkg" is not from the Mac App Store. Are you sure you want to open it? By opening "Silverlight.pkg", you are permanently allowing this application to run on this Mac.
- Follow the prompts to finish the installation.
- Once the installation is complete, try watching Netflix again.
After this, I see no other solution to fix the issue on Safari.
Is your plan Standard HD or higher?
Maybe adjust the monitor preferences, particularly the resolution.
Apple menu at the top left => System Preferences => Monitor => Resolution

Thank you for the quick response, it’s really nice of you to help me!
So, I have the standard HD plan on Netflix.
When I search for SilverLight in my Finder and follow the steps you sent me, I can't find anything, apparently there's no SilverLight on my PC.
I also changed the monitor, although I'm not really sure what to set it to because I don't understand the options haha :) If you know about this, which one would be the right choice?
And Firefox doesn't seem that bad...

Hello, if you’re getting along with Firefox, stick with it; it will avoid changing the settings on the Mac ^^
