Hello,
I use a Mac OS X 10.9.4. Until a few months ago, I watched Netflix and MyCanal without issue on Firefox. A few months ago the WidevineCDM plugin started glitching, preventing me from reading the videos, but I managed to find a solution by installing an older version of Firefox (77.0.1) which allowed me to continue watching.
Problem: now even that older version no longer works. I read that Google updated the plugin and since June 1 they require the latest version of Firefox, which for some unexplained reason no longer lets me read paid videos on Netflix and MyCanal. For info I am on Firefox version 78.11.0esr, the latest automatically installed by Firefox.
The browser I use to view these sites doesn’t matter to me, so I tried others—Chrome, Safari, Edge etc.—but every time the same problem: my Mac is too old to download the latest version, and the newest version of these browsers I can install is too old to run Netflix and MyCanal.
Do you have any ideas for solutions? I suppose I could update my Mac to a newer version, but I rely on quite a few old apps (iTunes with an iPod Shuffle, Football Manager 2012, Word 2011…) which I fear won’t be compatible with the newer macOS.
Thank you for your help.
Configuration: Macintosh / Firefox 78.0

Hello, have you found a solution? because I’ve tried everything and nothing works anymore, (netflix, prime videos etc..)
kind regards Baptiste -
Hello, there is no other solution than updating the Mac, I’m on 10.12 now. If you do the same, find out how to keep iPhoto; I was forced to switch to the very impractical and especially extremely slow Photos, with lots of old photos deleted that reappeared and photos previously sorted getting messy. Not to mention that the Mac is now slower. In short, long live Apple updates. And then some are surprised that I only do things when forced...
