Hello,

This is a Canon printer code that appears when the ink absorber pads are full. They need to be replaced and the counter must be reset to 0.

The problem is that:

  • Taking apart the printer to access the pads is often a complicated and delicate operation.
  • On current printers, the user can no longer reset the counter to zero. (You will find solutions online that generally do not work.)

In other words, it is necessary to go through a Canon service center. I do not know the cost of the operation; it may not be worth it given the cost of a new printer.

The conclusion is that the B502 error generally indicates the death of the printer.
