Hello

Friends informed me this morning that they sent me emails in HOTMAIL/OUTLOOK, and I haven't received anything.

This morning, I actually deleted about 400 emails to lighten my inbox.

What can I do?

Thank you for your response.

Martine

Good evening,

Emptying the Trash is fine, but you also need to delete them "Permanently."

Go to your email address:

https://outlook.live.com/mail/

Click on "Deleted Items" (trash)

Click on "Recover deleted items from this folder"

All the emails you delete from the trash are kept here for 30 days.

Select all emails and delete.

Hello

Yesterday, I was tired, I didn’t understand your message.

So I recovered the deleted items and emptied the folder, as you wrote.

I emptied 6,180 emails.

Thank you.

Have a nice day everyone.

Hello. Just passing by...

Thanks @foulq StatutMembre :) I never realized that "recoverable" emails also used up space... I'm going to delete them.

:)

Thank you very much, I didn't know that.

My hotmail.com mailbox has also been blocked since Wednesday the 22nd in the evening, even though I did a lot to empty the largest folders and others.

I just did the "recover" action and then emptied the trash, and I've been waiting a long time for the emptying: the message that appears is "emptying folder (0 out of 2,281)" but this lasts forever...

What is happening?

Thank you in advance for your response.

Hello,

If your inbox was full.... you indeed needed to delete some emails, but then remember to empty the trash...

(This is part of the total storage space provided, so as long as it is not empty, the total volume remains the same)

Then, if that isn't enough, you should ask your friends, who must be receiving a non-delivery message when they try to write to you, what the content of that message is, especially the error code that should be mentioned.

Thank you for your response

Yes, I had emptied the recycle bin; in fact, I run CCleaner every evening before shutting down the computer

I don't know how I did it this afternoon, but I saw a message in Microsoft storage that I was using 11.9GB/5GB, way too much

So I purchased Microsoft 365 Basic for €20 a year because it seems I saw 1TB of storage for Hotmail. If I understood correctly

I received an acknowledgment of receipt for the payment, but not finding anything to download, I continued my research and saw that it's for hotmail.com while I have hotmail.fr

However, I immediately received emails. EXCEPT for those between 7:30 AM and 6:05 PM.

Oh, the surprises of technology

I JUST RECEIVED THIS EMAIL. I FEEL LIKE I MADE A PURCHASE FOR NOTHING
(MY EMAIL) personal account 6.54 GB has exceeded the storage limit of 5 GB. Your files are still there. However, since you have exceeded your storage limit, you cannot save, sync changes, or add files and photos to OneDrive. You also cannot send or receive emails from your Outlook/Microsoft email account.

To continue using OneDrive and Outlook, change your storage limit, delete files in OneDrive, or delete emails with large attachments in Outlook.

It's the "tricky side" of online storage....

Personally, I don't use these "solutions" and therefore I won't be of much help for the next steps... I assume you'll have to choose what you leave stored on these services, and what you should store, for example, on an "extra" hard drive connected to your PC...

In short, I'll leave it to anyone who wants/can guide you in making the wisest choices.

Good evening

Thank you for your response. What is the point of "recovering"? And then, when deleting, is it permanent?

You haven't read it properly, it involves DELETING them permanently, which will result in recovering your space.

Select all the emails and delete.

Thank you for your feedback.

It must be acknowledged that the methodology is neither simple nor logical, but we must commend the existence of this second bin that retains messages that have already been permanently deleted for another 30 days...

Another question: are the emails that were forwarded to me between 7:30 AM and 6:30 PM permanently lost? Thank you for your answers.
