Sort by date in Libre Office Calc

Hello,

I just downloaded the latest version of Libre Office and I'm still experiencing the same problem in Libre Office Calc.

I have a column with dates that I would like to sort in ascending order, but the software sorts them by day, then by month, and then by year.

For example: 01/02/2002

01/02/2022

01/12/2020

02/11/2017

I have set the format to "date" for the cells in the column. What am I doing wrong?

I am using Windows 11 - 64 bits

Thank you to those who can help me.

Hello

If the dates come from a copy-paste or an extraction,

then there may be an apostrophe at the beginning of the date.

-visible in the formula editing once the cell is selected

To convert to date format

Select the cells and Data>Text to Columns and ' as the separator

Thank you for your prompt response, but this is not a copy-paste nor an extraction; I typed the dates as I went along with my table. I checked and set it up as you showed, but there was no change.

Re

A binder would be needed to see if the problem can be reproduced

1) Go to https://www.cjoint.com/
2) Click on [Browse] to select the file (maximum 15 MB)
3) Scroll down to click on the blue button [Create the Cjoint link]
4) After a few seconds, the second page will appear, with the link in bold; right-click on it and choose "Copy link"
5) Return to the discussion on CCM, and in your message, paste it.
