MSI battery plugged in but not charging

Hello everyone,

I have an MSI GE62 6QF Apache Pro running Windows 10, which hasn't worked for a while since I turned it back on.

After doing all the necessary updates for it to function properly, there is one thing that isn't working. The battery is connected, but it remains at 0%. Since my computer powers on when it's plugged in, I assume we can deduce that the battery is functioning.

I ran the troubleshooting, but nothing was detected, then checked in the device manager to see if I had the latest drivers (yes), then uninstalled and reinstalled them, but unfortunately, nothing works, the battery won't charge.

I've had this computer since 2016 and I hadn't turned it on since June 2022. Is there anything else I can try to identify the problem/solution?

Thank you in advance for your help and have a great Sunday.

    hi

you can test your battery with ==> BatteryBar ==> click here

the software indicates the wear level of the battery (among other things)

PS: if the battery is dead, you will have to disassemble the laptop to replace it ==> check this page

in this video, the person does not remove the battery, but there is only one screw ==> click here

    bye

Thank you for the feedback, I installed the tool in question and I have this. I suppose that means the battery is dead?

Thank you, it's still crazy that the battery doesn't work anymore when it's carefully placed in a pouch on a shelf
