Hello everyone, yesterday I found a photo of my neighbor printed from his phone at my place. He tells me he bought a mini printer and made a misdelivery because he sees several printers, 3 or 4 on the network. How is that possible? My Free network is secure... He claims it works like Bluetooth. How can I prevent this from happening again? My printer is HP. Free network. Thank you for your help, I'm not very good with computers! Have a good day.

    Hi

Oh yes, not bad... to think some people struggle to print via WiFi...

To prevent this from happening with the neighbor, turn off the printer as often as possible; when it's off, he won't be able to print.

In my opinion, he has switched to direct WiFi, which doesn't go through the box sharing; I don't really believe it's Bluetooth because the range is too short.

Check your printer's settings for the option to set a password on direct WiFi; that will prevent any access.

Thank you very much, I will check my printer on the HP website; in the meantime, I will leave it turned off. This morning I tried from my phone, it didn't suggest any printer as he said, apart from mine which is well-named and of course not connected.
