Redmi Note 9S won't turn on and shows a battery.

My Redmi Note 9 is in good condition. It's 2 years old. Yesterday I was using it and I saw a message saying "The air temperature is cold."
So I tried to warm up the phone. And then, after a very slight bump, it turned off and displayed a white battery on a black screen. It doesn't respond at all; as soon as I try to restart it, I see it rebooting and a second later, there it is again with the same battery icon, and it turns off. The same happens when I plug it in to charge.
I should mention that for some unknown reason, it was stuck at 44% for an hour.
If someone could help me as soon as possible or at least tell me if it's a hardware or software issue so I don't take it in for repair for nothing.
Thanks in advance.

What was the temperature at that moment?

After rechecking, it's not a temperature problem. It turns off by itself and refuses to turn on with the same icon. I'm stuck, and since I had already repaired the screen, I don't want to send it for repair again to avoid paying more than the initial price when it might not work soon.

Hello,
Yes, if the temperature is too low, the phone will shut down.
