Hello,

my adblock keeps turning off, and I always have to manually reactivate it. I read online that this could be due to some malware on my computer?

Could you help me clean my computer effectively?

Hello!

First of all, it's indeed not normal for Adblock to deactivate itself. Normally, it should remain active when you close and reopen your browser.

Here are several possible explanations:

- One of the installed extensions may be interfering with Adblock's functionality. To check this, disable/uninstall some of your extensions, close and reopen your browser to see if that makes any difference.

- Your browser may not be up to date. It might sound trivial, but sometimes the solution is to update it.

- It could be a fake Adblock extension (not the real one). By thinking you were installing Adblock, you may have installed a fake version that does nothing or actually adds more ads (advertising). In this case, uninstall that extension. To avoid being tricked, download extensions from the official browser store and check the popularity rating of the extension (just like for mobile apps).

- It might well be a little malware causing this. If you notice that your PC is running slower, or if extensions/search engines/software that you don't recognize have installed themselves... etc., you might have malware causing trouble. In this case, if you have an antivirus active, perform a full scan with it; if not, download a suite like Malwarebytes and run a scan to see if it finds anything.

For more serious malware issues, some people on the forum are very knowledgeable about the subject and may be able to help you better than I can.

Hoping to have helped you;)
