Hello,

Today, I have a ceiling-mounted video projector connected via HDMI to my PS5, which allows me to watch Canal, Netflix, etc.

I want to buy a soundbar to improve the sound that currently comes from my video projector, but I'm wondering how the connections between the different elements work.

Can I connect my soundbar directly to the PS5 via a wired connection? Do I have to plug it into my ceiling-mounted video projector (which is not practical in this case)?

Am I then forced to connect my soundbar wirelessly to my video projector, possibly losing quality?

Thank you for your answers.

Vincent

Thank you very much for your feedback.

The projector is an Epson TW610.

I understand that I can therefore split the sound and video via the extractor by connecting the PS5 to the extractor in input and to the projector + soundbar in output.

Well, apart from the speaker, there is no audio output for this projector...

So yes, the solution is: HDMI cable between PS5 output and HDMI IN of the extractor, then another HDMI cable between HDMI OUT of the extractor and HDMI IN of the projector...

The soundbar will be connected via optical or coaxial to the audio outputs of the extractor.

Hello,

If I'm not mistaken, the PS5 doesn't have an audio output, and getting sound from a potential projector output seems complex.

For me, the simplest solution is to use an HDMI Audio Extractor HDMI Splitter HDMI to Optical/Toslink/SPDIF/Coaxial to insert between the PS5 output and the projector input.

Example https://www.amazon.fr/Extracteur-R%C3%A9partiteur-Optique-Toslink-Coaxial/dp/B098BF2GKJ
or https://www.amazon.fr/Extracteur-Splitter-Optique-Toslink-Convertisseur/dp/B08CK59T9X

The future soundbar can connect either via Optical or coaxial...(digital sound = better quality)

There are plenty of similar extractors without coaxial output...

What are the references (brand and model) of the projector?
