How to enable WPS? With a secure method.

Hello,

After numerous attempts by all means, I can't activate WPS on my Freebox Revolution to access the internet wirelessly. When I go to my box's screen, and I go to Wi-Fi, then WPS, it says "press OK to trigger WPS" but after many attempts the feature still doesn't work.

Then, I tried using the Freebox OS app to activate WPS in Wi-Fi, but that doesn't work either, so what can I do in this situation? Is there a mode to activate/deactivate in my Wi-Fi settings?

Thank you for your response.

Good evening,

You wrote:

What exactly do you want to do?

WPS is normally used to connect a device to the box via Wifi, but without entering the Wifi code: printer, repeater, camera for example.

Personally, I use Freebox OS to use WPS because the display of my box is broken. It works perfectly.

Hello,

I want to connect my Sony TV, which is quite old (2010), to the internet using WPS, but I'm not really sure how to go about doing that. Do you have any ideas to help me solve my problem?

Hello,

While waiting for Pierr10, whom I greet, to take over:

I want to connect my Sony television, which is quite old. Have you checked that your television, of which it would be useful to indicate the exact model, has a wifi connection?

Additionally, I have read a number of articles regarding unresolved issues concerning the wifi connection between Free boxes (main and satellite) following an unsuccessful intervention at a friend's place.

But if this television isn't meant for this type of connection, the WPS won't be of any use.

Upon verification, you may need to opt for a wired connection, if the distance between the Free box and the TV allows it.

Hello,

georges97, whom I greet, has summed things up well.

For your information, I have a television that dates back to around 2012 or 2013. It allows all connections: cable, wifi, WPS.

I just tested it with my Freebox: the connection is easily established.

In order:

  • Go into the television menus to choose the connection type.
  • Put the Freebox in wait for a WPS connection; as I explained, I go through Freebox OS.
  • Return to the television to start searching for the WPS signal.

Normally the connection is made and Freebox OS indicates the success of the operation.

In practice, I use the cable because the Freebox is close to the television.

Now the interest is very low for me, as this additional connection does not bring anything, since:

  • all the interesting services are already available on the Freebox (connected via HDMI to the television).
  • the smart TV service is not really efficient.

What is well conceived is clearly stated,
And the words to say it come easily.
