Issue of undetected screen on docking station

Hello,

I have a problem with the screen that is connected to the docking station but does not turn on.

The model of the laptop is the HP 470 notebook g8.

The HP G5 docking station powers on properly, and the USB and network ports are working fine.

The issue is that the screen connected to the HDMI port of the HP G5 docking station does not turn on.

The drivers have indeed been installed correctly. The screen turned on via another PC connected to the universal docking station.

There seems to be a blockage on the HP 470 notebook g8.

I don't know if anyone has a troubleshooting solution?

Thank you in advance.

Hello and welcome

We're talking about THOSE drivers, right?

Best regards

thank you for your response but it doesn't work for the screens :(

The USB and ETHERNET ports do work on the docking station but the screens on the HDMI & Monitor ports are not detected :(

However, yes the drivers have been downloaded at least twice.

Sincerely

Fabien

Download the right ones, once is enough.
So there are drivers for the docking station AND those possibly for the screen depending on the brand and model, some have specific drivers while others are generic.
But downloading and installing are two different things.
Less frequently, there may be incompatibilities between the docking station and the screen.

Thank you for your response, but we tested with another PC and the screens were detected properly, so we ruled out the docking station and the screen.

I want to clarify that we ruled out the possibility of incompatibility between the docking and the screen.

It would have been interesting to mention it beforehand.
So no deduction, only the PC remains; in this case, it’s obviously on the HP side that we need to look, updates for drivers, BIOS?
Contact HP, because this PC seems recent (early 2021?).

Indeed, I contacted HP but no news for now, yes they made me download everything.

Exactly the same problem for me, I am on an HP255 G8 Notebook

Hello John,

My PC was not compliant, I had to switch to another one that is compatible.

Did you have a professional PC or one for personal use?

Good luck

Thank you for your response

This is a professional PC, what is surprising is that the other PCs in the company, which are the same models and have the same configuration, work with this setup of docking station / screen

I think it must be a settings issue with the computer, I will look into it on my side

Have a nice day

Thank you John, but unfortunately, not all professional PCs are necessarily compatible.

If not, you should download the latest HP updates and the graphics card drivers as well. If it still doesn't work after that, it's a compatibility issue.

Best regards

Fabien
