Hello,

I have an HP USB-C Dock G5 docking station, an ASUS Zenbook Pro (UX480) running Windows 11, and 2 monitors (MSI Pro241 & ASUS VG24VQR).

I have no output for either monitor, with MSI connected via HDMI and ASUS via DisplayPort.

I need help please.

Thank you

Hello,

First of all, the manufacturers' docks are often more restrictive in use because they can implement features specific to the manufacturer's PCs.

Then, more generally, the USB-C port on the PC must be of a type that supports display output. This is not the case for a data+charge USB-C port, but it is operational on a Thunderbolt-type USB-C.

Okay, so I have a "SS10" logo on the USB-C port.

So it's the port that's not suitable then?

yes SS = Super Speed 10 Gb/s, it's USB without screen support

How to know what type of USB-C port we have on the computer?

You need to check the PC documentation, the type of USB-C is often specified.

I don't know if there is a way to identify it in the device manager.

There is a visual identification, but it's not always present, a lightning bolt, or DP for Display Port which works the same way.

On my Dell, I do have the DP logo.

If you have a USB-C to DP cable, you can connect it to the PC to see if the screen displays; if it does, it might be the Dock that's not working properly.
