Second screen connected but not detected "no signal input"

Hello everyone,

as of today, the second screen connected to my laptop is no longer displaying anything.

I have an MSI laptop with an Intel Core I7 and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU.

My second screen is connected via HDMI with a VGA/HDMI adapter. Everything has been working perfectly for over 2 years.

I have tried several things, like restoring an old driver for my graphics card, changing display settings, etc.

The screen appears to be connected since I can send windows and my mouse to it, but nothing shows up. In the system's "display" settings, it does not detect the second screen.

I’m not sure what to do anymore...

Thanks for your help!

    Hello,

As you said, "The screen appears to be connected since I can send windows and my mouse to it, but nothing is displayed."

What option did you choose in System -> Display?

    A+

      Hello,

when I try to extend or duplicate the screen, nothing happens. My second screen remains black, with just the "no signal input" indicator.

Moreover, in system>display, when I select the second screen, the color profile does not appear and it tells me that no screen is detected.

        Hi again,

I think the problem comes from here: "My second screen is connected via HDMI with a VGA/HDMI adapter."

        I know, it worked before...

So I tested with other connection cables and other screens, the problem remains unchanged. The screens are connected, I can move the mouse on them and the windows, but I have no display.

      Re,

Other questions: Have you checked your screen input and its brightness level?

Everything works properly on the four screens tested with another computer

    Hello Altarisus.

In the course of the discussion, it isn't specified, but by deduction, the adapter is indeed functional?

And, have you changed the screen resolution for the one that was added?

The adapter works but I also tested it with other cables (vga>Hdmi; Hdmi>Hdmi).

Yes, I tried changing the resolutions. But the message is still the same: "no signal."
