Hello, I have a problem with my Acer gx 781 computer. I wanted to change the motherboard to upgrade the processor, but I've encountered an issue with the front panel connector. I can't connect it because the pins are too big compared to the cable.

Hello,

Normally it connects... or maybe a misalignment is preventing you from pushing it in... what is it that you have on what you call a "Front Panel"...???

Are the size... the pitch... the number of contacts correct...?

You will have a hard time finding this connector (individually) and then re-crimping each wire onto it...

So yes, there is exactly the same number of pins, with a gap in the same place.

This is where I need to connect it, except my cable is different from the one in the diagram.

Hello

The connector is specific to Acer productions; you need to adapt, cut, and resolder plugs or use an adapter set like https://www.cdiscount.com/informatique/cables-connectiques/1-jeu-carte-mere-interrupteur-alimentation-sw-r/f-1072015-aih9391567768610.html

All I have to do is buy this item and connect it according to the diagram shown above, without soldering or cutting anything? Thank you for your help.

The diagram you've captured is the standard applied by motherboard manufacturers... Acer rarely adheres to this diagram... you'll have to do a wire-to-wire connection between the connector and the various LEDs and buttons to figure it out; if you're lucky, you won't have to cut anything....
