Error U052 on Canon Pixma MG 5330
Ptiloubxl Posted messages 21 Status Member -
My loyal Pixma MG5350 printer suddenly shows an error U052, the print head is no longer recognized.
Since I know that Canon has planned obsolescence procedures, and before buying a head for 115 euros (on Amazon), I would like to know if anyone has the printer reset procedure (factory settings)
It should involve turning off the printer
pressing the orange button and the On button at the same time
releasing the orange button
pressing the orange button 5 times.
For me, it does nothing, the error is still there.
Thank you for your help

Hello,
Check this link found on the CCM Forum.
In my opinion, it's better to buy a new one because the print head of your printer (which isn't very fresh) will "cost you an arm and a leg"!

That's a good question, thank you for your suggestion. But when we have over 50 ink cartridges for this printer in stock, we're looking for a printer that is still available and uses CLI526 or PGI525. Today, there aren't any among the sellers of new machines. So I'm still going to try to fix my old MG5350 (it was already my second one after a MG5150. You see, I am loyal).
Thanks again for your input.

Hello .....
Regarding this error, there is a good chance that the printhead is defective or clogged ??
See ► This link or ► This one and possibly ► This video that suggests the miracle remedy ?????
In my opinion, investing €115 in a printhead for an old printer is a mistake because it is not at all certain that the problem will be resolved afterwards ...
Best regards ► A+
Edit ► You should remove your phone number under your name in the signature ► Danger ...on public forums...

Hello,
I too have a problem with a U052 error on my Canon MG5350 like apparently hundreds or even thousands of users.
For the past two half-days, I have been searching the Internet in French, German, and English to find a solution!
Following this, I have tried numerous remedies suggested before considering a new print head and the method of "throwing" the printer from the top of a staircase (so far). This problem really resembles more of a planned obsolescence and I cannot accept the fact that the machine is 8 years old to justify buying a new one.
Furthermore, I wonder if buying a new print head wouldn't be a good idea, as in the case of this machine, it is still two machines that are down because of this error (printer and combined scanner).
The space-saving of a combo scanner/printer thus results in an economic fiasco (but not for Canon) and/or sustainability!
