Abnormally low GPU performance

Hello,
Not long ago, my laptop started having a problem. It runs games at between 1 and 20 fps on low settings, whereas not so long ago, I could run my games at 120-160 fps on ultra (Apex and Rocket League). My drivers are up to date, as is my Windows (Windows 11), and I've set the "best performance" options in the Nvidia control panel, etc...
However, the problem has persisted. I then performed a benchmark (on userbenchmark) and that's when I noticed that my graphics card was not performing well. I also remembered that once, while I was playing, my laptop suddenly blew very hard, and the screen froze. I had to restart the laptop using the on|off button. So, could the problem be due to overheating? Considering it was very hot when it happened.
I'd like to point out that I'm not very knowledgeable about hardware, so please be lenient.
Thank you for your responses.
Here is my config:
-i5-11400h
-rtx 3060 laptop
-16gb 3200Mhz (ram)
-500gb nvme samsung ssd
And here is the result of my benchmark:

Sorry, that shows my level of computing... To better view the tab, you need to open the image in a new tab, but I'm sure you already know that.

Hi Camouss,
Do a test with UserDiag and then copy the link and paste it in your response.
With that we will know more.
Otherwise, indeed, since it has been very hot lately (but it's going to cool down : ) )
It may be that your CPU & GPU have overheated, especially the GPU.
If all your Nvidia settings are good; and the priority (preferred) is for your RTX3060...
It is known that for those using a laptop;
by default, the GPU is not used during gaming but the IGPU (integrated graphics of the CPU), which severely limits the fps.
Here is the quick test:

And the 2nd test for overheating and the power supply condition:
https://userdiag.com/id/KXUIslfPAe
It's normal for the RTX not to rise above 50-60 degrees, otherwise have a nice day.
re Camouss,
Everything seems normal to me (in both tests)
I don't know where you are; but right now the temperature (weather) has dropped > 20°C here compared to +30° before....
To respond to your message > "If my GPU overheated, will it (in some time) "return to normal"?"
Yes!
If you want, you can relaunch the test bench to see if Graphics appears in red like before.
& or play a bit and see how it goes.
So there's no need to worry; however, if at an ambient temperature (19~20°) your PC starts heating up and the fan is full blast... Then it will be time to change the thermal paste.
It's a hassle with laptops for beginners, but doable.
Have a nice day too
Thank you very much for your reply!
I still have a few questions, though.
What is the ambient temperature (of the room) to avoid overheating problems?
In my bedroom, it was (during the peak of the heatwave) on average between 25 and 30.
You say that my laptop will return to normal, but when will that be? In a few days, weeks?
I’m asking because I’ve had this laptop for less than a month...
And my last question concerns the brand. What do you think of the Acer brand for laptops, as the reviews seem mixed.
And thanks again for your responses.
What is the ambient temperature (of the room) to avoid overheating problems? When it approaches 25°, I replied indirectly Ambient temperature (19~20°) and the higher the °C rises, the hotter it will get.
You say my laptop will return to normal, but when exactly? I don't (REALLY know) If your PC is off, I would say 1 hour or less... It all depends on whether the heat dissipates well.
Some people use/buy a Ventilated Stand for laptops, here's what it looks like >>>

I've had this laptop for less than a month So it's still too early to dismantle and start changing the thermal paste.
But it's certain that the rise in temperatures doesn't help
What do you think of the Acer brand for laptops? As a PC/Gamer user... and because I prefer to build my PCs myself... I don't think much of it.
And if I had to buy a Gaming Laptop (i.e. high performance)
I would be happy to have a constant 60FPS / 72+ FPS on a 144Hz screen -- without the PC overheating too much, and if it overheats too much, like 85°C --- And if I have more like you with 120-160FPS; I would limit that number to my screen's refresh rate, so the GPU will be less utilized.
I would also definitely do GPU UnderVolting; I've already done it for my GTX1080Ti.
(so I consume less, the GPU heats less (much less even > you can gain 10 to 20°C for almost the same number of FPS) and as a bonus I can lower the fan and thus enjoy the silence.
PS: Check out tutorials on YouTube if you're interested
Type > undervolt gpu/rtx or undervolting rtx3060 laptop
I have another question. Should the PC be "warmed up" before doing heavy tasks like playing resource-intensive games, etc.? It may seem stupid, but I'd rather ask.
I understand what you're getting at,
But I don't really have an answer to provide you.
Or maybe you've heard about recommended stress-test techniques or software before playing!?!
What could become problematic in the long run (and when I say in the long run > that's months or over a year)
Would be being at around 45°C while idle and then suddenly spiking to 80-85°C in a few minutes. Then a sudden drop.
Thanks again for your replies!
I ran stress tests again and the temperature (GPU) doesn't go above 55 degrees, unlike the CPU which reached 80. Even though I forced the use of the graphics card...
Moreover, my problem seems to be worse than I thought because you mentioned about an hour of waiting for the PC to cool down, but my PC still has the issue even in the morning (after at least 10 hours of waiting) ...
I'll do some more research, but if I find nothing, I will probably make use of the warranty.
I don't know much, but I think a component of the GPU must have fried or something like that. I think this because the problem occurred after my screen froze and my PC heated up (fans at full speed) all of a sudden.
Have a nice end of the day.
You're welcome,
I preferred to set aside (a component failure in the GPU)
(due to the temperatures) the fact that your PC has frozen + fan running at full speed
Means it went into SECURITY mode (and that's normal)
The UserDiag you showed is perfect! (for the GPU temperature)
But not in the frequencies... The frequency during testing is low 0.10Ghz & 0.21Ghz. Yet with a constant voltage...
So your IGPU (CPU) is being used and not your RTX;
but you say that in the NVIDIA settings; are you sure you selected your RTX (and that's not normal)
If worse comes to worst, go to the Device Manager
right-click on your RTX3060 then Disable
and another right-click to Reactivate

...
Maybe the PC will ask you to restart (restart)
And in the end, go to the NVIDIA Control Panel and check this in your 3D settings >

Don't forget to Apply; if nothing changes, return to customer service.
Have a nice end of the day as well!
Ok thanks
I'll send that to you later around 11 am, I'm tired
If my GPU overheated, will it be able to "return to normal" (after some time)?
