Infinite scrolling in the submenu that scrolls automatically

Hi

so it's not quite a question from me. I encountered a bug on my laptop and I've read quite a few responses here. I'm sharing my experience here just in case it can help

so the bug: automatic scrolling down the playback bar nonstop. infernal. whether on the browser or in word/excel files it's the same thing

hardware: HP laptop / Windows 8.1

adopted solutions:
1- change the automatic color option on the screen background.
right-click mouse / personalize / color and there choose any color other than the automatic option. indeed, the scrolling stopped immediately. but only for about 3/4 days and then it started again

2- then I decided to switch to a hardware solution. I disassembled the laptop very carefully (it's complicated) but there are good YouTube tutorials available. I can't say exactly where the problem came from because I cleaned both the touchpad and the keyboard at the same time. both were filled with dust. once the laptop was reassembled, everything works fine without the crazy scrolling issue. let's hope it lasts and that this is useful to those who read this.

So I’m adding information that seems useful.

Despite the cleaning, the problem has returned. As a result, someone on the internet helped me, whom I thank very much by the way. I opened the laptop. I unplugged the touchpad and restarted it, but the problem persisted. So that wasn't it; I repeated the procedure by unplugging the keyboard and the problem stopped. So I was relieved that it was that.

I went to the HP website, downloaded a diagnostic tool, and checked the keyboard (which I reconnected), and it highlighted the page down key in yellow, which means the problem came from that. I tried to clean it, but that didn't work; I thought about disassembling it altogether, but I was advised against it. Apparently, the problem comes from a short circuit. So I ended up downloading software that allows you to activate/deactivate keys on the keyboard. And so I disabled the page down key, and the problem is no more.

The software in question is "sharpkeys."
