Hello

I have an old CD of Works Suite 2005 with a key, but when I install it, everything freezes. I don't know if it's because I've installed Open Apache - should I uninstall Apache? Thank you for your response - my PC is Windows 10 -

Hello,

I don't see the connection with Apache.

To draw a parallel, I still use Money 2001, but I can only install it in compatibility mode, and Money 2005 works separately without any issues on Windows 10.

However, for example, Works 8.0 (2005) requires IE6: we're stuck.

No solution is documented that works on Windows 10, except of course for installing a Virtual Box or VM Ware Workstation virtual machine running a compatible OS, maybe XP (which has IE6 by default even though it's no longer possible to get it working), I haven't tried it, but in any case, a license will be needed.

Thank you for your response, but I have a key (license) and I have to uninstall everything every time; my Windows 10 computer freezes.

I replied to you: he is more informed, key or not, it is completely impossible to install on Windows 10, and I see no interest in it anyway.

The only part that retains its place is Money which continues to work and that we haven't replaced with something "smarter" after all this time.

Works is advantageously replaced by Libre Office or whatever we want.

But I suppose the recurring question on this forum that I don't understand is related to Encarta.

I have shown on this same forum that, contrary to a widespread belief, there is nothing preventing it from being downloaded, but that does not mean it will work on Windows 10.

Furthermore, not only are the contents of an encyclopedia of that age obsolete, but there is a good chance that the computer interface contains objects and scripts that are no longer read by recent versions of Windows.
