Installation of Microsoft Works 7.0 CD

Hello, I want to install the Microsoft Works 7.0 CD, but it told me that you don't have Internet Explorer (which no longer exists). How can I install this Works 7.0 software? Thank you for your help.

what operating system are you using?

If you are on Windows 10, Works 7.0 is no longer compatible.

Works 7.0 only installs (in compatibility mode) on 32-bit Windows 10 installations: still possible, but a lot of work for not much?

Mine is a 64-bit, but it asks me to install Internet Explorer, this software works with this one, a message appears on the screen.

It's impossible anyway in 64-bit, IE or not.

Older editions of Money (separate from Works Suite) theoretically have the same problem but can still be installed despite IE; the problem is probably not related to Works itself (which does not need an Internet connection) but to the ancillary software in the suite (Encarta, Autoroute Express...).

You can still launch IE 11 on Windows 10 in Edge compatibility mode, for not much longer, but I suppose that in any case, an earlier version of IE would be required that IE 11 will prohibit installing.

If you are absolutely set on Works 7.0 (and aside from reinstalling Windows 10 in 32-bit), maybe consider going through a Windows XP virtual machine; Works 9.0 is said to install without issue on Windows 10, but not sure if one can find a version (check on Internet Archive) other than in English.

Hello everyone...

Just to let you know, I have a Microsoft Works 9 archive that I just installed out of curiosity and without any issue on Windows 11 .......

I have MsMoney 2005 for ages and Works recognized it immediately, and MsMoney is even accessible through Works.

Edit ► The same installation was done on a Windows 10-64 bits Home without any issues as well....

Yes, we agree: Works 9, not Works 7, and Money poses no problem even in older versions (I use 2001).

In any case, Microsoft Works has never been free software.

Apparently, Casimir2008 only has version 7, which cannot be installed on a recent Windows.

CCM cannot help him obtain and install version 9, which would likely be illegal.

End of the story regarding Works.

Other solutions will need to be considered.
