Hello, hoping I'm on the right forum...
I only use my MB Air (2015) while plugged in.
For the past few hours, the power cable light has remained orange, as if it is constantly trying to charge the battery.
Knowing that the battery was already weak, I am no longer looking to charge it or use it.
Until now, my light was always green as soon as I turned on the computer...
Can anyone tell me what I should do? Thanks!

Hello,
Green light = battery charged
Fixed orange light = battery charging
After that, you can reset the System Management Controller (SMC) which manages the following:
- The response to the power button usage
- The response to opening and closing the lid of a Mac laptop screen
- Battery management
- Thermal management
- Sudden motion sensor
- Ambient light sensor
- Keyboard backlighting
- Status light management
- Battery status lights
- The selection of an external video source (instead of an internal source) for some iMac displays
If any problems are encountered with any of these functions, resetting the SMC may resolve it.
Note: This operation is completely safe.
There are three methods to reset it depending on the Mac model:
• For a desktop Mac, you need to turn it off, unplug the power cord, wait 15 seconds (at minimum), press the power button for 5 seconds (at minimum). Then, plug the power cord back in, wait 5 seconds (at minimum) and start the Mac
• For a laptop Mac with a removable battery, you need to turn it off, unplug the MagSafe adapter, remove the battery, press the power button for 5 seconds, then put the battery back, plug in the MagSafe adapter and start the Mac.
• For a laptop Mac with a non-removable battery, you need to turn it off, unplug the MagSafe adapter, then simultaneously press the 3 keys (the ones on the left) Shift, Ctrl, Alt( ⌥ ) AND the power button. Hold these 3 keys and the power button down for at least 10 seconds then release them all at the same time. You can then start the Mac.
With your 2015 MacBook Air you are in the third case: the battery can only be removed by disassembling the Mac.
