MacBook Pro 13'' Keyboard Backlighting

Solved

Hello,

I bought myself a MacBook Pro for Christmas and I've just blocked the backlight of my keyboard (without knowing how, of course).
So now my keyboard no longer lights up and the F5 F6 keys are stuck.

Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks

Configuration: Mac OS X / Safari 531.21.10

Hello,

I recommend that you open the menu "Apple -> System Preferences -> Keyboard" and in the "Keyboard" tab:
- uncheck "Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys"
- check the box "Adjust keyboard brightness in low light conditions" to enable backlighting.

Hello Ritchi, Seven years later, thank you for the same question about a MacBook Air. I had already looked and checked/unchecked the keys, but I had never made an adjustment using F5/F6!
I suspect I have picked up one or a few small glitches over time on this Mac, which have at best reset, at worst blocked certain things, and are ruining my life. I was searching without believing it for this backlight, thinking it might be a well-hidden virus.
Thank you, Kabir.
