What power supply for a 3080 3x8 pin?

Hello,

Could someone confirm that the ASUS ROG STRIX NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 V2 OC Edition which requires 3x8 pin is compatible with the Corsair RM850x Power Supply (Fully Modular, 850 Watt, 80 PLUS Gold) Black? Or suggest another one?

I don't know anything about this at all.

Hi,

Have you checked the power supply connection? (PCI 3x8 pin)

Otherwise, have you considered an EVGA Supernova 1300 G2?

  What do you mean by 6x2PCIe? This power supply has 6 PCIe 8 (6+2) pins. So there are plenty enough to power a GPU with 3 PCIe 8 pin connectors. What can be suggested to him is that he can find a cheaper equivalent, like the Seasonic FOCUS GX-850:

    Looking at the connectors, there are 2x 8pin (6+2) but the number isn't written, though you can see there are 2, so it needs 3
    
    The Seasonic you show has 3 PCIe cables, so that should be enough.

    You misunderstand things. The power supply comes with 3 PCIe cables. Each cable has 2 PCIe 8(6+2) pin connectors. This makes a total of 6 PCIe 8 pin connectors. By connecting 2 cables, you can power a GPU with 3 PCIe 8 pin sockets. One PCIe 8 pin connector will remain unused. So this power supply has more connectors than needed for this GPU.
