Will it come back or do we have to change smartphones!?
Configuration: Android / Chrome 100.0.4896.88

Good evening,
The bug is being fixed
About two months ago, users in Spain and around the world started noticing that the fingerprint sensor was not working as well as we would like. As a result, Xiaomi decided to remove the option from the system and prevent its use as no means of correcting the fingerprint in MIUI resolved it. This measure was taken to enhance security.
Other alternatives
Fortunately, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite has other equally valid and feasible security options so we don't miss unlocking the phone so much with the fingerprint. The most recommended option is facial recognition, which allows us to use our face to unlock our mobile. Something as quick or even quicker than the fingerprint.
But we can also opt, if we prefer, for the classic four-digit PIN or a password. These are slower, but on the other hand, they are more secure. To set up one of them, just go to Settings> Password and security. In the case of facial unlocking, we just need to show our face to the selfie camera and that will be enough. For the other alternatives, we will have to repeat the codes twice and only then can we access the files.
