Hello everyone,
First of all, I'm writing to you from a laptop that is working perfectly well, with perfectly functional Wi-Fi.
My issue lies with my desktop PC that has an Asus PCE-AC51 Wi-Fi card that "works".
It is able to find the nearby Wi-Fi networks perfectly well, however, when I enter the network key, there is a short loading time and I always end up with the message "We couldn't connect to this network," hence the title of the topic.
Everything was working perfectly until last night at 9:30 PM when the connection dropped while I was browsing on YouTube, and since then it's been impossible to reconnect. I've looked through some tutorials to disable the option allowing the computer to put the device to sleep, forget the network and reconnect, and I also tried commands with /cmd netsh etc., but I can't find a solution.
So if anyone has a solution, I'm all ears! :)
Here is the information in case you need it.

Hello.
Check if you have entered the correct WiFi key.
Check if your PC is connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable directly connected to the box.
Restart your internet box and then restart your PC and see if you can connect.
Update the driver for your WiFi network card https://www.asus.com/fr/Networking-IoT-Servers/Adapters/All-series/PCE-AC51/HelpDesk_Download/

Hi,
all these IPV4 addresses (apipa) and ipv6 LL on disconnected interfaces really smell like a big mess in the IP stack.
At the very least, you should go through an ipconfig /reset:
oops, not ipconfig,
netsh interface ip reset interface
See the b4 here

I tried that without success:
" ipconfig /flushdns -> (clearing the DNS cache)
netsh winsock reset
netsh winhttp reset proxy
netsh winhttp reset tracing
netsh winsock reset catalog
netsh int ipv4 reset catalog
netsh int ipv6 reset catalog
netsh int ip reset c:\reset.txt -> (this resets the TCP/IP protocol)
Type "ipconfig /release" and confirm
6) Regardless of the result, then type "ipconfig /renew" and confirm, then wait for a few seconds for the text below to confirm whether or not the renewal was successful.
7) Close the window even if you have an error.
8) The connection icon at the bottom right of the screen near the time should have returned to normal, and if you try to open the internet with your usual browser, it should work! "
It doesn't change anything, I still get the same error message saying I can't connect.

We will need to consider the following in order:
change the wifi card driver, revert to a restore point, reset Windows, or even reinstall it altogether.
Another option,
but I don’t think it’s a change that happened on its own,
is to set a different SSID name on the box for the 2.4 and 5 GHz wifi networks and see if one works better than the other, for example Teka2 and Teka5.
Otherwise, since the netsh interface ip reset, do you still have the same thing in ipconfig/all or what you showed at the beginning?

Hello,
I think you should try this on the problematic PC:
in the command prompt (keyboard shortcut: Windows key + r)
type "cmd "
once in the command prompt, you need to type the following commands:
1) ipconfig /release + enter key (this will release your machine's IP address)
2) ipconfig /renew + enter key (this will reassign an IP address to your machine)
3) ipconfig /flushdns (this will clear the DNS cache)
to exit the command prompt, type exit.

re
is your network card integrated into the motherboard or not?
if it is not, I suggest you remove it from your case after of course disconnecting the PC from the wall socket.
restart the PC without the card. go to the control panel and see if your card appears in network adapters. if yes, right-click on your card and choose uninstall. then, restart the PC once and do this check again without the network card.
turn off the PC, reinstall the network card and turn on your PC. normally it will detect a new device.
and it will prompt you to install the driver.

The key is working fine since it connected my laptop.
The Ethernet port works well since I was previously on a constant Ethernet connection, but after a move, I no longer have the ability to connect via Ethernet.
I just updated the driver, and in the device manager, when I right-click on my network card, it tells me that I have the latest version of the driver.
Everything was fine last night, and now I can't connect to a wifi network.
Still the same message..
Yet I can log out/log in on my other laptop, phones, etc.
