"We could not connect to this network."

Question

Hello,
I have a problem and I would like someone to help me.
For some time now, my PC has not been able to connect to the hotspot I create via my phone. It keeps saying "we couldn’t connect to this network." I've tried everything: updating drivers, uninstalling them, going into command prompt and typing what I found on the internet, but nothing works. I even went so far as to reset my computer. It's worth noting that other computers/phones successfully connect to the hotspot provided by my phone. I also tried creating a hotspot with another phone, and that didn’t work either.

I'll give it a try. I downloaded something that might update the wifi card drivers. I admit I don't know much about it.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "tethering"?
Is it a Wi-Fi connection created on your phone to share the 4G (mobile hotspot)?

Can you also provide your phone model and the OS version (Android or iOS)?

Lastly, are you using Windows 10 on your PC?

So when you select your phone's Wi-Fi on Windows 10 and enter the password, it refuses to connect?  Can your PC connect to another Wi-Fi network?

It's correct that when I try to connect to my phone's hotspot, my computer says "we could not connect to this network", but I can connect to the Wi-Fi box without any problem.

On your phone, have you tried changing the following settings in your hotspot configuration: _ security (open, WPA2 PSK, ...) _ frequency band (2.4 or 5 GHz)

Yes, I tried and it doesn't work either. I think the problem lies with the computer since it's the only one that won't connect to the mobile hotspot provided by my phone.

Hi, it's probably a driver issue related to Windows. try restoration points that date back before the problem.  -- and ... There you go!

Or you could try installing an older version of the WiFi card driver.

no, nothing at all, I didn't turn off my PC or anything. I just turned the Wi-Fi back on to see and then turned my mobile data sharing back on and it didn't work.

My brother tried to create a mobile hotspot on my PC using his phone, and it works perfectly. When I try right after him, it also works, but when I switch from the Wi-Fi (router) to my phone's hotspot, it doesn't work.
Either my computer is rejecting my phone, or my phone doesn't want to create a mobile hotspot for my PC.
