Screenshot with Galaxy A12 = impossible?

Hello.
With my new Galaxy A12 smartphone, I can't take screenshots!
I've tried all the solutions:
1) pressing both buttons on the side (Power + Volume Down) at the same time = doesn't work and it's not practical!
2) It's suggested to swipe down from the top of the screen and look for the "screenshot" icon = I don't have that icon!
Anyway, I've been searching... I can't find it - and apparently I'm not the only one facing this issue!

Who has successfully taken screenshots on the Galaxy A12 and how?
(Please, only those who have an A12 respond - Thank you).
Best regards.

Hello,

Don't look for a "Screenshot" icon. It doesn't exist.
There is a "Screen Recorder"; it's not the same thing.

You might not be doing exactly what you need to do.
The screenshot is usually taken by simultaneously pressing M/A and Volume Down.
Press these buttons at the same time and release them immediately: do not hold the buttons down while waiting for the capture.
Once you have released the buttons, the capture is made in the second that follows.

If you don't proceed this way, failure is guaranteed.

Hello.
You are probably right.
Still, the other screen capture icon solution indeed exists when you pull down the notification panel from top to bottom > EXCEPT IN FRANCE!
But when you command > nothing indicates it! This is not normal!
As for the only screenshot command on this model - not French - it is indeed the combination of the 2 buttons - Even if I may be doing it wrong > in any case, it's not practical!
An alternative solution = install a screen capture application!
Thank you for your attention.

Hello @Pierr10

You were the one who "pointed it out" (joke)!
Indeed, I was pressing both buttons for too long.
A brief press is enough for it to work.
THANK YOU.
Still, I went ahead and installed a screen capture app = much easier!
We have a small overlay icon and just two quick taps on it and voila > screenshot.
I prefer that to trying to find the two buttons on the side. (Well, to each their own!).
Thank you.

Hello,

The sliding motion with the side of the hand that I mentioned in <5> is not bad either. It still requires a bit of practice.
Have a good day!

Thank you very much

After 1 hour and 30 minutes of searching, it was you who saved me

Exactly, do not hold down
