Hello,
My PC hasn't started since this morning.
When I turned on my computer, there was a spark from the motherboard, as well as an explosion (I would say near the power outlet) and a burnt smell. It caused the power to trip for my entire apartment.
Considering I built my PC 2 years ago and have never had any problems until today.
I have already tested the power outlet by plugging in a lamp, and it works very well.
If anyone is able to help me ????

Hello
You need to open it and see where it burned.

There are 3 types of people: those who can count and those who cannot.
There are two categories of people: those who divide everything into two categories and the others.

Hello,
If you are sure there was a spark on the motherboard, it is likely that its functionality has been affected.
First, you need to verify that the PC is normally powered. The best option is to use another power supply.
Otherwise, use the paperclip method to determine if your power supply is working.

This is obviously a partial test, but it helps eliminate a faulty power supply.
If the power supply shows no problems, your only option left is to replace the motherboard.

What is well conceived can be clearly stated,
And the words to say it come easily.

Thank you for your reply.
I tested the paperclip on my semi-passive Seasonic power supply. The power supply fan doesn’t spin. I also tried connecting an old hard drive, and nothing happened either.
So is the power supply dead?
I'm worried that other components may have been damaged.
