Hello,

I have my Compaq PC that powers on but won't boot.

The power button is on, that's good.

However, the "caps lock" key is blinking.

I don't understand this problem at all.

It won't start. Yet it's not out of battery and it has never fallen down either.

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Good evening...

Assuming it's a laptop, try this:
remove the battery, disconnect the power supply, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, release it, reconnect only the power supply, and start... then let me know....! ;)
    Best regards,

    Weird, your thing...
The fact that pressing the power button REQUIRES you to have removed the battery AND the power cord, otherwise it has no "use"...!
Check in the power options what there is for sleep mode, the fact of closing the screen... put everything to "never" to see what happens....

That's it, it doesn't even want to turn on anymore like yesterday. It's having the same problem as before. I've tried the same maneuver several times and nothing... I really don't understand this issue. Is it a virus? Yesterday I managed to turn it on and now nothing.
Actually, it lights up but doesn't start. Black screen, only the Wi-Fi light is on, the power button of course, and the caps lock key is flashing.
      What should I do? :/

I celebrated victory too soon unfortunately, all it took was for me to close it to put it in sleep mode for it to start having the same problem again once I reopened the top part. So I tried to force a shutdown by pressing and holding the power button, but nothing happened, so I tried unplugging it and turning it back on and it worked.

Then with the battery, I tried, but it definitely doesn’t want the battery (haha), yet it's not damaged or anything. I removed it and it started without the battery, just on AC power. But even the slightest sleep mode triggers the same problem again, what the heck is going on? :(

A virus doesn't manifest like that, or then it would be new to me...

I think it's the hardware that's at fault, but I admit, in your case, I don't really know where the problem comes from...
Can you access the BIOS by repeatedly pressing F2 or Del as soon as you power up?
Can you start in safe mode by repeatedly pressing F5 or F8... or another key, also as soon as you power up?

      I've tried nothing... :/
It turns on, you can feel it running but still a black screen and the same keyboard keys I mentioned to you that remain lit up :/
