Hello,
I think the USB port (2) is at the back of the device unless it has been relocated elsewhere in the cabin (glove box, console, etc...)
See you later!

Here is for the disassembly:

But you do have a USB port on your console, so the issue may come from the USB key. Did you proceed correctly?? What format did you use for the USB key, fat32, ntfs??

No worries, I think the port where you plugged in your USB key and the one above it (USB-C) are just for charging devices (mobile phones).
Good luck with the disassembly.... ;)
The key must be in FAT32.

Thank you Macbernic,
The problem is that no one knows where it really is, and I can't take the dashboard apart for that.
It's on a DUCATO motorhome and I am more than an hour away from the dealer and by phone!!!

Hello,
Excerpt from https://www.idealo.fr/prix/6169525/pioneer-avic-z910dab.html
There are 2 USB ports at the back, on the top left of the fan

It's very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...

I hope it won't be like that on the "AVIC-Z1000DAB-C" of my DUCATO, because otherwise they are really useless.
I looked to take it out and see behind, but I didn't want to force it for fear of damaging something, and I didn't find out how to do it.

Don't you have the installation and user manuals?
I'm afraid that all these Z910 or Z1000 devices look very similar in terms of their connections.
If the USB ports weren't originally installed in the glove compartment or on any support on the dashboard,
then it will be necessary to dismantle, which generally requires special tools provided with the unit, or to check with the Fiat dealer or Norauto, for example.

Anyway, thank you very much "Macbernic", your info is great!!!
For the USB stick, I followed the instructions, that is to say in "FAT32", I even reformatted it with an old PC running XP, as I had already had this kind of issue with FAT32 on Windows 10 and 11 for something else.
I must say I haven't tried in NTFS yet, I'll see tomorrow just in case???
I will be able to check if there is indeed a connection to the famous USB port, as the stick is not recognized.
I will come back with an update.
Thanks again
Herve

Thanks again to MacBernic for his help.
Summary of information for the GPS update "Pioneer AVIC-Z1000DAB-C" on BAVARIA.
After a long search, I found the 2 x USB ports of the GPS hidden as female ports at the end of free cables in the back of the glove compartment at the top facing the passenger.
To register, since I couldn't find my GPS in the proposed list, I registered with another GPS instead of mine, and I was still able to update my GPS because once the key was formatted as "FAT32" on my PC and then loaded with "SynchTool" by plugging it into one of the 2 USB ports, the updates offered in "Naviextras Toolbox" with the free update code automatically apply to the correct GPS, for me it's "AVIC-Z1000DAB-C".
================
I did it in two rounds, first loading the Europe map updates into the GPS, then starting again for supplements including the Fixed Radars.
================
It should be noted that the key is emptied when loading the GPS, so there is enough space for the next steps with the same key.
There you go, I hope this will be useful to some.
